Diary: Early Digital Captures

.

This location; the grounds of a private home in Bryn Maur, Pennsylvania was a common setting for many of my earliest digital camera studies before I officially made the switch over from film photography to digital capture in 2005.  I was quite impressed by the remarkable range of tones rendered by the Nikon Cool Pix camera that I used for my first foray into digital photography.  Learning about media cards and megapixel counts at the time seemed like an absurdity, before it became a new reality.  Art students from colleges in and around Philadelphia commonly called to model in order to earn extra money while they were in school. The subject in this picture struck a classic goddess like pose during a two hour shoot on a typically hot and humid Philadelphia summer afternoon.  The large terracotta vase added an element of scale to the subjects slender figure in concert with the idyllic setting added to the mood and feeling the image evokes. This particular image; amongst  my earliest digital captures continues to enchant me. After the shoot, the model and I went for a swim to cool off just a few yards from where we set up camera.
